Home Equity Builders in the Community
Serving the local community is a key part of the HEB mission
As members of the Great Falls community, the Rainey family has been actively involved with
community organizations for many years. Their desire to make the community a better place
is also manifested in the organizations and events HEB supports.
When it comes to an event that truly brings the community together, the Great Falls 4th of
July Celebration is a beloved ritual for young and old. When the celebration lost its sponsor
and was in danger of cancellation, Home Equity Builders stepped in as a sponsor of the event
and helped bring fireworks back to Great Falls. Since then HEB has continued to sponsor the
festivities and fireworks, and Jeff Rainey has served as event Chair since 2003.
Sharon Rainey, in addition to working as Home Equity Builders vice president, has combined her
entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the community by creating myNeighborsNetwork.com. As
an interactive online resource providing local business referrals and community information,
myNeighborsNetwork.com is a positive forum to exchange valuable information and support local
businesses.
Home Equity Builders provides integral support to the Neighbors International Foundation. This
501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, also founded by Sharon Rainey, works in a variety of ways
to provide resources and volunteer opportunities to those in need support most, as well as provide
neighbors the tools to make a difference. One of NIF's major initiatives includes outreach to
our troops overseas, by sending letters, care packages, and Girl Scout cookies.
Neighbors International Foundation is also at work in the local community, through the Community
Works program. This program encompasses a wide variety of projects, including toy donations to
Children's Hospital, monthly goodie baskets to local police and fire stations, donations to the
Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston, meals for local residents experiencing a difficult time to due
death or illness, and helping families of wounded soldiers at Walter Reed hospital.
Throughout the work of the organization NIF strives to weave a theme of giving back at any age.
They focus in particular on providing opportunities for children to learn the value and joy of
helping others. This program, called Helping Hands, gives youth a variety of meaningful activities
they can engage in with their parents or as individuals.
Finally, Home Equity Builders is a member of the Great Falls Historical Society and Great Falls
Friends. All in all, Home Equity Builders support for the community is unrivaled among area
remodelers.
